A plain-language companion to the Privacy Policy: what Jinni handles, why, and what you control.
The short version
Jinni analyses how you move using your device camera. That analysis happens on your device. Your raw workout video is not stored and is not sent to anyone for review — what the app keeps is the measurements it calculated while you moved.
We do not sell your data, we do not use your movement or health information for advertising, and Apple Health is optional and off unless you turn it on.

Camera and movement analysis
The camera is active only while a session or assessment that needs it is running. Frames are analysed on the device to produce movement measurements, then discarded. Revoking camera permission in your device settings stops camera-based guidance and leaves the rest of the app working.
Derived movement data explained
“Derived movement data” means the numbers, not the pictures: which movements you did, how many repetitions, how long, and summary measures of range and control. It is what lets Jinni show your progress and adapt the next session. It cannot be turned back into video.
Apple Health
Off unless you enable it. When enabled, Jinni reads only the signals you authorise — sleep, resting heart rate, heart-rate variability, recent activity — and uses them as readiness context. Turn it off in Apple Health or in the app at any time; Jinni keeps working without it.
Sharing
We share personal information only with service providers acting on our instructions under contract, with payment providers to take payment, and where the law requires it. We do not sell it and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
Security
Encryption in transit, access controls, and least-privilege internal access. The strongest protection is architectural: video that never leaves your device cannot be breached from ours.
