Account Deletion
Last updated 27 July 2026
How to have your Jinni account and data deleted — and why you should cancel your subscription first.
How to request deletion
Send a deletion request from the email address associated with your Jinni account to support@tryjinni.com, with the subject “Jinni account deletion request”.
Sending from the account's own address is what lets us act quickly. If you cannot, we will ask for other information to confirm the account is yours before deleting anything — deleting the wrong account is not a recoverable mistake.
Cancel your subscription first
Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription, and deleting the app does not cancel it either. Cancel through the channel you purchased from:
- App Store: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Jinni → Cancel Subscription.
- Web: through the web billing channel you used at checkout.
Cancel first, confirm the cancellation, then request deletion. Otherwise billing can continue against a subscription whose account no longer exists.
What gets deleted
- your account and sign-in details;
- your movement goals, preferences, and check-ins;
- your assessment results and derived movement data;
- your session and progress history;
- your questions, feedback, and conversation history;
- any Apple Health values that were synced into Jinni.
What we may keep, and why
A small amount of information survives deletion because the law requires it:
- Payment and tax records — transaction, invoice, and refund records, kept for the statutory retention period.
- Fraud and abuse records — the minimum needed to prevent repeat abuse.
- Dispute records — where there is an open or reasonably anticipated legal claim.
- Aggregated statistics — figures that no longer identify you and cannot be traced back.
Raw camera video is not in this list because it is never stored in the first place. See the Privacy Policy.
Backups
Deleted data can persist in encrypted backups until those backups age out on their normal rotation. It is not restored to the live service and is not accessible in day-to-day operations.
Deletion is permanent
Once deleted, your assessments, session history, and progress cannot be recovered — not by you and not by us. If you only want to stop paying, cancel the subscription and keep the account.
